🌿 For everyday cannabis use

Terpenes matter.
Track them.

Dank Diary is a personal cannabis journal built around terpene science. Log products, COA data, effects, and taste — then let it learn what actually works for you.

Early access — no spam, ever.

More than a journal —
a personal feedback loop

Most cannabis apps are just star ratings and notes. Dank Diary goes deeper — built around real terpene and COA data, with a personalization layer most trackers don't have.

Learns what works for you

The more you log, the more closely suggestions track your personal response. It suggests effects and taste from a product's terpenes — based on terpene science at first, then increasingly on your own history as you log more.

🎯

Personal match scores

Every product gets a match rating — Great, Good, Weak, or Poor — based on how products with the same terpenes have rated in your history. This kicks in once you've logged a handful of rated products; before that, there's nothing to compare against yet.

🧬

Your terpene & cannabinoid response

Stats sections show which terpenes and minor cannabinoids consistently lead to your best (and worst) experiences. Like the match scores, this needs a bit of logged history first — it gets more useful the more you use it, not on day one.

📖

Learn the science

Terpenes are why products feel different

THC percentage only tells you potency. Terpenes, along with cannabinoids like CBD and CBG, are believed to shape the rest of the experience — whether a product feels calming or energising, whether it tastes like citrus or pine, and how it might affect pain or sleep. The research is still developing, but the pattern is real enough that tracking it is worth doing.

Dank Diary lets you build a personal terpene profile — flag which ones work for you and which ones don't — so you can make smarter choices every time.

Questions, answered

Who made this?

I've worked in the cannabis industry and I'm an everyday consumer myself. Most of the trackers I tried either wanted to sell my data, buried real insight under social-feed gimmicks, or just gave me a star rating and called it a day. I wanted to actually understand what works for me, keep my data mine, and skip the noise — so I built the app I actually wanted.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The DIY setup is a step-by-step guide — you'll create two free accounts, paste in a couple of values, and copy-paste one setup script. No coding, no command line. If you can follow a recipe, you can set it up. Prefer to skip it entirely? The Pro option has us do the whole setup for you.

What is Supabase, and why do I need it?

Supabase is a free database service that stores your data — your products, photos, and settings. You create your own private Supabase project, so the data lives in an account only you control, not one we operate or have access to. It's also what lets Dank Diary sync across your phone, tablet, and computer. The free tier is more than enough for personal use.

How long does setup really take?

About 15 minutes for the DIY option if you follow the guide. Most of that is just creating your free accounts. The Pro option takes you zero minutes — you receive a working link and login, ready to use.

Is my data private?

There's no middleman. You self-host on your own Supabase account, so your data lives in a database only you control — we never see it or have access to it. We don't hold a copy of every user's data in one place, so there's no company in the middle with a reason — or a way — to sell it.

Can I move or back up my data later?

Yes. Dank Diary has built-in export and import — download everything (products and settings) as a single file any time, and restore it whenever you like. You're never locked in.

Do I have to use the AI features?

Not at all. The AI-powered COA import is completely optional. If you want it, it uses your own Anthropic account and key, billed directly by them — and you can set a spending cap. The app works fully without it; you can always enter terpenes and cannabinoids by hand.

What does it cost to run?

Nothing, beyond the one-time purchase. Both services Dank Diary uses (Supabase for your data, Netlify or GitHub for hosting the app) have free tiers that comfortably cover personal use. No subscription, no monthly fees.

What if I get stuck?

Every purchase includes email support to help you get up and running. The setup guide covers the common questions, and if something isn't working, reach out and we'll help.
